لَخَلْقُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ خَلْقِ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

The creation of the heavens and earth is greater than the creation of mankind, but most of the people do not know.

    The explanation of the saying of the Exalted: لَخَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ خَلْقِ النَّاسِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لا يَعْلَمُونَ (57)

    (Verily, the creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of mankind, but most of mankind do not know.) (40:57)

    The Exalted says: verily, the bringing of the heavens and the earth into existence and producing them out of nothing is greater, O mankind, in your eyes — if you regard the creation of mankind and their production out of nothing as something great — than the creation of mankind; but most of mankind do not know that the creation of all that is, for Allah, a trifling matter.

    القول في تأويل قوله تعالى : لَخَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ خَلْقِ النَّاسِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لا يَعْلَمُونَ (57) يقول تعالى ذكره: لابتداع السموات والأرض وإنشاؤها من غير شيء أعظم أيها الناس عندكم إن كنتم مستعظمي خلق الناس, وإنشائهم من غير شيء من خلق الناس, ولكن أكثر الناس لا يعلمون أن خلق جميع ذلك هين على الله.
