Indeed, those who disbelieve and commit wrong [or injustice] - never will Allah forgive them, nor will He guide them to a path.

The explanation of His word: Voorwaar, degenen die ongelovig zijn en onrecht plegen, Allah zal hen niet vergeven, noch hen een weg wijzen (168), behalve de weg naar de hel (jahannam), waarin zij voor eeuwig zullen verblijven. En dat is voor Allah gemakkelijk (169).
Abū Jaʿfar said: He, exalted is His praise, means by this: Verily, those who denied the message of the Prophet ﷺ and thereby became disbelievers in Allah through that denial, and who committed wrongdoing through their persistence in disbelief (kufr) while they knew better — through their wrongdoing against the servants of Allah, out of envy toward the Arabs and out of malice toward His Messenger Muḥammad ﷺ — "Allah will not forgive them," that is to say: Allah will not pardon their sins by refraining from His punishment for them; rather, He disgraces them thereby by punishing them for them. "Nor will He guide them to a way," He says: Allah, exalted is His mention, will not guide these disbelievers and wrongdoers whom We have described, and so He will not show them the right way to any of the ways by which they would attain the reward of Allah and by which, through holding fast to it, they would attain Paradise (janna); rather, He forsakes them therein, until they tread the way to Hell (jahannam). By the word "way" the faith (the religion) is meant. The meaning of the statement is therefore: Allah will not give them right guidance to Islam, but He forsakes them therein and guides them to "the way to Hell (jahannam)," which is disbelief (kufr), that is to say: until they disbelieve in Allah and His messengers, and thus enter Hell (jahannam). "Wherein they will abide forever," He says: abiding therein eternally. "And that is easy for Allah," He says: and the causing to abide forever in Hell (jahannam) of those whose characteristics I have described to you is easy for Allah, for no one toward whom He wishes that is able to resist it, and no one can prevent Him from it, and what He wishes to do with it is not difficult for Him. And that is easy for Allah, for the creation is His creation and the command is His command.
