The explanation of the words of the Exalted: قِيلَ ادْخُلُوا أَبْوَابَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ ("It will be said: 'Enter the gates of Hell (jahannam), abiding therein forever. How evil is the abode of the arrogant.'") (72)

The Exalted, whose praise is exalted, says: The keepers of Hell (jahannam) will then say to those who were unbelievers: ادْخُلُوا أَبْوَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ("Enter the gates of Hell"), the seven gates, according to your places therein. خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ("abiding therein forever"), that is to say: dwelling therein, without being transferred from it to anywhere else. فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ ("How evil is the abode of the arrogant"), that is to say: how evil is the dwelling-place of those who in the life of this world behaved arrogantly toward Allah — by refusing to acknowledge Him as the One and to ascribe divinity exclusively to Him — namely Hell (jahannam) on the Day of Resurrection.
