The explanation of His statement, the Exalted: وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَا عَمِلَتْ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ (And every soul will be fully repaid for what it did, and He is most knowing of what they do) (70).
The Exalted, whose praise is sublime, says: And Allah will at that moment give every soul its full recompense for its deeds, whether those were good or evil. And He knows best what they do in the worldly life of obedience or disobedience; no knowledge of that escapes Him. And He will repay them for it on the Day of Resurrection: thus He will reward the doer of good for his good-doing, and the doer of evil for the evil that he has committed.
