Tafseer of The Groups · Az-Zumar · 39:44

قُل لِّلَّهِ ٱلشَّفَٰعَةُ جَمِيعًۭا ۖ لَّهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

Say, "To Allah belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirely. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will be returned."

    Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr related to me, saying: Abū ʿĀṣim related to us, saying: ʿĪsā related to us; and al-Ḥārith related to me, saying: al-Ḥasan related to us, saying: Warqāʾ related to us — both of them — on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid, concerning His saying Say: to Allah belongs intercession (shafāʿa) altogether (39:44), he said: no one can intercede with Him except by His permission.

    حدثني محمد بن عمرو, قال. ثنا أبو عاصم, قال: ثنا عيسى، وحثني الحارث, قال: ثنا الحسن, قال: ثنا ورقاء جميعا عن ابن أبي نجيح, عن مجاهد, قوله: ( قُلْ لِلَّهِ الشَّفَاعَةُ جَمِيعًا ) قال: لا يشفع عنده أحد إلا بإذنه.
