And indeed, you pass by them in the morning

The explanation of His statement, the Exalted: وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ مُصْبِحِينَ ("And indeed, you pass by them in the morning") (137)
He, the Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says to the polytheists (mushrikīn) of Quraysh: and indeed, you pass by the people of Lūṭ, whom We destroyed, when you are travelling in the morning during the day, and also at night. As Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ مُصْبِحِينَ: they said: yes, by Allah, in the morning and in the evening they tread upon it, a treading; whoever travels from Medina to Shām passes by Sodom, the village of the people of Lūṭ.
Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Aḥmad ibn al-Mufaḍḍal related to us, saying: Asbāṭ related to us, on the authority of al-Suddī, concerning his statement لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ مُصْبِحِينَ, he said: during your journeys.
