And We gave them the explicit Scripture,

Exposition of the interpretation of His statement, the Exalted: وَآتَيْنَاهُمَا الْكِتَابَ الْمُسْتَبِينَ ("And We gave them both the clarifying Book") (117)
He, exalted be His mention, says: and We gave Mūsā and Hārūn the Book, that is to say: the Torah (al-Tawrāt).
As Bishr related to us, he said: Yazīd related to us, he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda وَآتَيْنَاهُمَا الْكِتَابَ الْمُسْتَبِينَ : the Torah.
By "al-mustabīn" (the clarifying) is meant: that in which the guidance (hudā) it contains, as well as its exposition and its rulings, have been made clear.
