And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron.

The discourse on the explanation of the statement of the Exalted: وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ ("And indeed, We bestowed favor upon Mūsā and Hārūn") (37:114).
The Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says: And indeed, We bestowed Our favor upon Mūsā and Hārūn, the two sons of ʿImrān, for We made them both prophets, and We saved them both and their people from the oppression and the tremendous misery in which they were on account of the enslavement to the house of Firʿawn, and from that with which We destroyed Firʿawn and his people, namely the drowning.
And in accordance with what we have said concerning this, the people of interpretation (ahl al-taʾwīl) have spoken.
