The explanation of the saying of the Exalted: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَالِمُ غَيْبِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ (38) (Truly, Allāh is the Knower of the unseen of the heavens and the earth; truly, He is All-Knowing of what the breasts conceal.)

The Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: فَذُوقُوا (Taste then) the fire of the punishment of hell (jahannam) to which you have been exposed, O you who disbelieve in Allāh. فَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ نَصِيرٍ (and for the wrongdoers there is no helper); He says: and for the disbelievers, who have wronged themselves and thereby brought upon themselves the wrath of Allāh through their disbelief in Allāh in this worldly life, there is no helper to help them against Allāh so as to save them from His punishment.

And His saying إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَالِمُ غَيْبِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأرْضِ (Truly, Allāh is the Knower of the unseen of the heavens and the earth): the Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: truly, Allāh knows what you, O people, conceal in your souls and what you harbor in your innermost selves, and what you have not yet harbored nor resolved upon of that which you will yet resolve upon, and what is hidden from your sights in the heavens and the earth. So fear Him, lest He become aware of what you conceal in your souls of doubt about the oneness of Allāh or about the prophethood of Muḥammad, other than what you display with your tongues. إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ (Truly, He is All-Knowing of what the breasts conceal).
