The explanation of the saying of the Most High: That He may reward those who believe and do righteous deeds; it is they for whom there is forgiveness and a generous provision (4)
The Most High, whose praise is exalted, says: He has recorded that in the clear Book, so that He may reward those who believed in Allah and His Messenger and acted according to what Allah and His Messenger commanded them, and abstained from what He forbade them, on account of their obedience to their Lord. (It is they for whom there is forgiveness): He, whose praise is exalted, says: For these who believed and did righteous deeds, there is forgiveness from their Lord for their sins. (And a generous provision): He says: and a pleasant life on the Day of Resurrection in Paradise.
As Bishr related to us, he said: Yazīd related to us, he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda (It is they for whom there is forgiveness) for their sins (and a generous provision) in Paradise.
