The explanation of the saying of the Exalted: قُلْ أَرُونِيَ الَّذِينَ أَلْحَقْتُمْ بِهِ شُرَكَاءَ كَلا بَلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ (34:27) (Say: Show me those whom you have attached to Him as partners. By no means! Rather, He is Allah, the Almighty, the All-Wise.) (34:27)
The Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says to His Prophet Muḥammad, Allah's blessing and peace be upon him: Say, O Muḥammad, to these polytheists (mushrikīn) who ascribe to Allah the idols and the images as partners: Show me, O people, those whom you have attached to Allah and whom you have made into partners for Him in your worship of them — what have they created of the earth, or do they have a share in the heavens? (كلا) The Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: They have lied; the matter is not as they have described, nor as they have asserted and said, namely that Allah has a partner. Rather, He is the One worshipped who has no partner, and it does not befit that He should have a partner in His dominion; the Almighty (al-ʿAzīz) in His retribution against whoever of His creatures ascribes partners to Him, the All-Wise (al-Ḥakīm) in His governance of His creatures.
