It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days; then He established Himself above the Throne. You have not besides Him any protector or any intercessor; so will you not be reminded?

The explanation of the saying of the Exalted: اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ دُونِهِ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ وَلا شَفِيعٍ أَفَلا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ (4) (Allah is He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days, and then rose above the Throne. Besides Him you have no protector nor intercessor. Will you then not take heed? (4))
The Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says: The Worshipped One, to whom alone worship is due, O people, خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا (created the heavens and the earth and what is between them) of creation, فِي سِتَّةِ أيَّام (in six days), and then rose above His Throne on the seventh day, after His creation of the heavens and the earth and what is between them.
As Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ (created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days, and then rose above the Throne) on the seventh day. He says: You have, O people, no god except the One who performed this deed and created this wondrous creation in six days.
And His saying: ما لَكُمْ مِنْ دُونِهِ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ وَلا شَفِيعٍ (Besides Him you have no protector nor intercessor). He says: You have, O people, besides Him no protector who watches over your affair and helps you against Him should He wish to do you harm, nor an intercessor who intercedes for you with Him should He punish you for your disobedience toward Him. He says: Take Him, therefore, as protector, and seek with Him, and in obedience to Him, help for your affairs, for He protects you, if He wishes to protect you, against whoever wishes to do you harm, and no one is able to restrain Him from what He wills for you, for no oppressor overpowers Him and no conqueror conquers Him. أفَلا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ (Will you then not take heed?). The Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says: Will you then not take a lesson and reflect, O people, so that you may know that besides Him you have no protector nor intercessor, so that you ascribe to Him alone the divinity, devote worship purely to Him, and cast off the associates and gods that you set up alongside Him?
