And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture, so do not be in doubt over his meeting. And we made the Torah guidance for the Children of Israel.

The discourse on the explanation of His statement, the Exalted: وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ فَلا تَكُنْ فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِنْ لِقَائِهِ وَجَعَلْنَاهُ هُدًى لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ (23) (And indeed, We gave Mūsā the Book; so be not in doubt about the meeting with him, and We made it a guidance for the Children of Israel.) (23)
He, exalted is His mention, says: And indeed, We gave Mūsā the Torah, just as We gave you the Furqān, O Muḥammad. So be not in doubt about the meeting with him (min liqāʾihi), that is to say: be not in doubt about the meeting with him. Qatāda used to say: its meaning is: be not in doubt that you met him, or encountered him, on the night in which you were taken on the night journey (isrāʾ). And in accordance with this is the report transmitted from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, on the authority of Abū al-ʿĀliya al-Riyāḥī, who said: The cousin of your Prophet — he means: Ibn ʿAbbās — related to us, saying: The Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "On the night in which I was taken on the night journey, Mūsā ibn ʿImrān was shown to me — a brown-skinned man, tall of stature, with curly hair, as though he were one of the men of Shanūʾa. And I saw ʿĪsā — a man of medium build, inclining toward redness and whiteness, with straight hair. And I saw Mālik, the keeper of the Fire (al-nār), and the Dajjāl" — among the signs that Allah showed him. So be not in doubt about the meeting with him, that he saw Mūsā and met Mūsā on the night in which he was taken on the night journey.
And His statement: And We made it a guidance for the Children of Israel — He, exalted is His mention, says: And We made Mūsā a guidance for the Children of Israel, that is to say: a right guidance for them, so that by following him they are rightly guided, and they attain the truth by following him and following his word.
And that which we have said concerning this is what the people of interpretation (ahl al-taʾwīl) have said.
* Mention of who said that:
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: And We made it a guidance for the Children of Israel, he said: Allah made Mūsā a guidance for the Children of Israel.
