    The explanation of the saying of the Exalted:

(That is because Allah is the Truth, and because what they call upon besides Him is the false, and because Allah is the Exalted, the Great.) (31:30)

The Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: this, of which I have informed you, O Muḥammad, that Allah has accomplished it — the making of the night pass into the day and of the day into the night, and other matters of His tremendous power — He has accomplished it only because He is truly Allah, in contrast to what these polytheists (mushrikīn) call upon besides Him, and because no one besides Him is able to accomplish that, and because divinity (al-ulūha) belongs only to the One who has accomplished that by His power.

And His word: (وأنَّ ما يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ الباطِلُ); the Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: and because what these polytheists worship besides Allah is the false that perishes, that therefore vanishes and comes to nothing. (وأنَّ اللهَ هُوَ العَلِيُّ الكَبِيرُ); the Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: and because Allah is the Exalted; He says: the One who possesses exaltedness above all things, and everything that is below Him is to Him submissive and obedient — the Great, before whom everything that is below Him makes itself lowly.
