The explanation of the statement of the Exalted: وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَانُ لابْنِهِ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُ يَا بُنَيَّ لا تُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ (31:13) ("And when Luqmān said to his son, while he was admonishing him: O my son, do not associate partners with Allah (shirk). Indeed, the associating of partners (shirk) is truly a tremendous wrong" (31:13)).
The Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says to His Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: remember, O Muḥammad ﷺ, وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَانُ لابْنِهِ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُ يَا بُنَيَّ لا تُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ ("And when Luqmān said to his son, while he was admonishing him: O my son, do not associate partners with Allah. Indeed, the associating of partners is truly a tremendous wrong"). He says: it is a tremendous error in the statement.
