بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ الٓمٓ

    The explanation of the statement of the Exalted: الم (Alif, Lām, Mīm) (30:1)

    Abū Jaʿfar said: We have already previously set forth the meaning of His statement الم (Alif, Lām, Mīm), and we have mentioned the views which the people of interpretation (ahl al-taʾwīl) held concerning it, so that this absolves us from repeating it in this place.
