The explanation of the saying of the Exalted: (29:19) (Have they not seen how Allah originates the creation, then restores it? Indeed, that is easy for Allah.)
The Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says: Have they not seen how Allah originates the creation of things — first as a small child, then as a growing boy, then as a fully grown man, then as a man of advanced age? Of this one says: abdaʾa and aʿāda, and badaʾa and ʿāda — two linguistic forms with one and the same meaning. And His saying: ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ (then restores it): He says: then He restores it after its perishing and decaying, just as He originated it the first time, as a new creation; that is not burdensome for Him. (Indeed, that is easy for Allah): simple, just as its origination was easy for Him.
In accordance with what we have said about this, the people of interpretation (tafsīr) have spoken.
* Mention of who said that:
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His saying: (Have they not seen how Allah originates the creation, then restores it?): through the resurrection after death.
