Allah, exalted be His mention, says: Sulaymān smiled, laughing at the word of the ant who said what she said, and he said: رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ — by His word أَوْزِعْنِي He means: inspire me (alhamnī).
And in the same sense as what we have said about this, spoke the people of interpretation.
* Mention of those who said that:
ʿAlī related to me, saying: Abū Ṣāliḥ related to us, saying: Muʿāwiya related to me, on the authority of ʿAlī, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, concerning His word: قَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ — he said: enable me.
Yūnus related to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said concerning the word of Allah: رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ — he said: in Arabic usage one says: "awzaʿa fulān bi-fulān" — that is to say: he urged him to it. And Ibn Zayd said: أَوْزِعْنِي — inspire me and urge me to give thanks for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents.
And His word: وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ — He says: and inspire me to act in accordance with Your obedience and what pleases You. وَأَدْخِلْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِي عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ — He says: and by Your mercy cause me to enter among Your righteous servants whom You have chosen for Your messengership and selected for Your revelation — that is to say: cause me to enter Paradise in the places where they enter.
And in the same sense as what we have said about this, spoke the people of interpretation.

Yūnus related to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said concerning His word: وَأَدْخِلْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِي عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ — he said: among Your righteous servants, the prophets and the believers.
