Tafseer of The Ant · An-Naml · 27:13

But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic."

Allah, exalted be His mention, says: when Our signs came to Pharaoh — that is to say: Our proofs and Our arguments for the truth of that to which Mūsā called them and its correctness, and these are the nine signs that we have mentioned earlier. And His word مُبْصِرَةً — He says: through it, to whoever beholds and sees it, becomes clear the reality to which it points.

And in the same sense as we have said about this, spoke the people of interpretation.

    * Mention of those who said that:

Al-Qāsim related to us, saying: al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to me, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj: فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْهُمْ آيَاتُنَا مُبْصِرَةً — he said: clear (bayyina). قَالُوا هَذَا سِحْرٌ مُبِينٌ — He says: Pharaoh and his people said: this which Mūsā has brought us is a manifest sorcery (siḥr mubīn) — that is to say: which makes clear to the onlookers that it is sorcery.
