So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.

His word فَفَرَرْتُ مِنْكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ ... the verse — Allah, Whose praise is exalted, says, relating what Mūsā said to Pharaoh: فَفَرَرْتُ مِنْكُمْ — O chiefs of the people of Pharaoh — لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ — that you would kill me on account of my killing the slain one among you. فَوَهَبَ لِي رَبِّي حُكْمًا — He says: "My Lord has bestowed upon me prophethood — and that is the ḥukm (wisdom/judgment)."
As Mūsā ibn Hārūn related to us, he said: ʿAmr related to us, he said: Asbāṭ related to us, on the authority of al-Suddī: فَوَهَبَ لِي رَبِّي حُكْمًا — "the ḥukm is prophethood."
His word: وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ — He says: "And He has included me in the number of those whom He has sent to His creation as bearers of His message to them — by sending me to you, O Pharaoh."
