But they have denied the Hour, and We have prepared for those who deny the Hour a Blaze.

Allah — exalted be His praise — says: It is not because you, O Muḥammad, eat food and walk in the markets that these polytheists (mushrikīn) have denied Allah and rejected what you have brought them of the Truth — but rather because they do not have faith in the resurrection, and do not affirm the recompense and the punishment, out of denial of the Resurrection and out of rejection of Allah's raising of the dead as living for the gathering of the Day of Judgment.
وَأَعْتَدْنَا — He says: For the one who denies Allah's raising of the dead as living after their decay, before the coming of the Hour, We have prepared a Fire that blazes and flames over them.
