Rather, We have brought them the truth, and indeed they are liars.

He says: The matter is not as these polytheists (mushrikīn) claim against Allah — that the angels are the daughters of Allah, and that the deities and idols are gods alongside Allah. بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ (Nay, We have brought them the truth) — the certainty, that is the religion with which Allah sent His Prophet ﷺ, and that is Islām, and none other than Allah may be worshipped; for there is no god but He. وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ (and indeed they are liars) — that is to say: the polytheists lie in what they ascribe to Allah and impute to Him of a child or a partner.
