وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ

And they who do not associate anything with their Lord

    وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ لا يُشْرِكُونَ — that is to say: those who keep their worship pure for their Lord and associate therein no partner (shirk) with Him, neither an idol nor an image, and who are likewise not driven to make any of His creatures the object of show — rather, they render their deeds solely for His countenance, and to Him alone do they turn in obedience and worship, above all that is besides Him.

    ( وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ لا يُشْرِكُونَ ) يقول: والذين يخلصون لربهم عبادتهم، فلا يجعلون له فيها لغيره شركا لوثَن ، ولا لصنم، ولا يُراءون بها أحدا من خلقه، ولكنهم يجعلون أعمالهم لوجهه خالصا، وإياه يقصدون بالطاعة والعبادة دون كل شيء سواه.
