They will murmur among themselves, "You remained not but ten [days in the world]."

His words يَتَخَافَتُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِنْ لَبِثْتُمْ إِلا عَشْرًا (they whisper among themselves: you have remained no more than ten days): He — exalted be His praise — says: they whisper among one another, and some confide secretly to others: you remained only in the world — that is, they say to one another: you remained only ten days in the world.
