The exposition of the interpretation of the word of Allah the Exalted: خَالِدِينَ فِيهِ وَسَاءَ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حِمْلا (abiding therein eternally, and how evil it is for them as a burden on the Day of Resurrection) (20:101)
He — exalted be His praise — says: abiding eternally in their burden. Allah — glory be to His praise — has so framed the announcement concerning these people, who in this world turned away from His remembrance, that they abide eternally in their burdens. The meaning is: they abide eternally in the Fire on account of their burdens. But because the intent of the words was clear, one sufficed with what was mentioned and omitted what was not mentioned.
His words وَسَاءَ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حِمْلا (and how evil it is for them as a burden on the Day of Resurrection): He — exalted be His praise — says: how evil is that burden and that weight of sin as a burden on the Day of Resurrection — and it befits them that this causes them suffering, for it has led them to a destruction from which there is no escape.
In accordance with what we have said about this, the exegetes also spoke.
