And We raised him to a high station.

Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr related to me, saying: Abū ʿĀṣim related to us, saying: ʿĪsā related to us; and al-Ḥārith related to me, saying: al-Ḥasan related to us, saying: Warqāʾ related to us — both on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid, concerning His word وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا: he said: Idrīs was raised up and did not die, just as ʿĪsā was raised up.
Al-Qāsim related to us, saying: al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to me, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj, on the authority of Mujāhid — the same, except that he said: and he did not die.
Muḥammad ibn Saʿd related to me, saying: my father related to me, saying: my uncle related to me, saying: my father related to me, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās: وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا: he said: he was raised up to the sixth heaven, and died therein.
It was related to me from al-Ḥusayn, saying: I heard Abū Muʿādh say: ʿUbayd ibn Sulaymān informed us, saying: I heard al-Ḍaḥḥāk say concerning His word وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا: Idrīs met death in the sixth heaven.
Ibn Bashshār related to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān related to us, saying: Sufyān related to us, on the authority of Manṣūr, on the authority of Mujāhid: وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا: he said: the fourth heaven.
Abū Kurayb related to us, saying: Ibn Yamān related to us, on the authority of Sufyān, on the authority of Abī Hārūn al-ʿAbdī, on the authority of Abī Saʿīd al-Khudrī: وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا: he said: in the fourth heaven.
ʿAlī ibn Suhayl related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to us, saying: Abū Jaʿfar al-Rāzī related to us, on the authority of al-Rabīʿ ibn Anas, on the authority of Abī al-ʿĀliya al-Riyāḥī, on the authority of Abī Hurayra or another — Abū Jaʿfar al-Rāzī was uncertain — he said: When the Prophet ﷺ was taken on the night journey, Jibrīl ascended with him to the fourth heaven and asked for the gate to be opened. It was said: Who is this? He said: Jibrāʾīl. It was said: And who is with you? He said: Muḥammad. It was said: Has a mission been sent to him? He said: Yes. It was said: Welcome to him as a brother and as a successor — what an excellent brother and what an excellent successor, and welcome is his coming. He said: He entered, and behold, there was a man. It was said: This is Idrīs, whom Allah raised to an exalted place.
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His word وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا: he said: Anas ibn Mālik related to us that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ recounted that, when he was taken on the night journey, he found Idrīs in the fourth heaven.
