Tafseer of The Night Journey · Al-Israa · 17:99
Do they not see that Allah, who created the heavens and earth, is [the one] Able to create the likes of them? And He has appointed for them a term, about which there is no doubt. But the wrongdoers refuse [anything] except disbelief.

Allah, exalted be His praise, says to His Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: Have these polytheists (mushrikīn) who say أَئِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا وَرُفَاتًا أَئِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ خَلْقًا جَدِيدًا (when we are already bones and dust, would we then be raised up as a new creation?) not then considered with the eyes of their hearts and understood that Allah — Who created the heavens and the earth and brought them forth out of nothing and made them stand by His power — is, by that very same power, able to create the likes of them, beings equal to them, after their perishing and before it? And that whoever is able to do that is not prevented from bringing them back as a new creation after they have become bones and dust?
And His word وَجَعَلَ لَهُمْ أَجَلًا لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ — Allah, exalted be His praise, says: And Allah has appointed for these polytheists a term for their destruction and a time for their punishment, concerning which there is no doubt. That is to say: there is no doubt that this term will reach them. فَأَبَى الظَّالِمُونَ إِلَّا كُفُورًا — that is to say: the unbelievers (kāfirūn) refused everything except denying the reality of His threat with which He threatened them, and rejecting it.
