Tafseer of The Bee · An-Nahl · 16:29

فَٱدْخُلُوٓا۟ أَبْوَٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ فَلَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ

So enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and how wretched is the residence of the arrogant.

    Allah, exalted is His praise, says — He addresses these very arrogant ones when they say to their Lord, "We did no evil at all": "Enter the gates of Hell (jahannam)" — that is to say: the levels of Hell — خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا (abiding therein eternally) — that is to say: remaining therein forever. فَلَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ — He says: indeed, how evil is the abode of whoever was arrogant toward Allah and acknowledged neither His lordship (rubūbiyya) nor affirmed His oneness — Hell (jahannam).

    يقول تعالى ذكره، يقول لهؤلاء الظلمة أنفسهم حين يقولون لربهم: ما كنا نعمل من سوء: ادخلوا أبواب جهنم، يعني: طبقات جهنم ( خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ) يعني: ماكثين فيها( فَلَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ ) يقول: فلبئس منـزل من تكبر على الله ولم يقرّ بربوبيته ، ويصدّق بوحدانيته جهنم.
