إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ قُرْءَٰنًا عَرَبِيًّۭا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand.

    The explanation of the words of Allah the Exalted: إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ (Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qurʾān, that you may understand.) (verse 2)

    Abū Jaʿfar says: Allah the Exalted says: We have sent down this clear Book as an Arabic Qurʾān for the Arabs, because their language and their speech is Arabic. Thus We have sent down this Book in their language, that they may understand it and derive insight from it. And that is the meaning of His word: (that you may understand).

    القول في تأويل قوله تعالى : إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ (2) قال أبو جعفر: يقول تعالى ذكره: إنا أنـزلنا هذا الكتاب المبين، قرآنًا عربيًّا على العرب ، لأن لسانهم وكلامهم عربي ، فأنـزلنا هذا الكتاب بلسانهم ليعقلوه ويفقهوا منه ، وذلك قوله: (لعلكم تعقلون) .
