The explanation of the word of Allah the Exalted: وَيَا قَوْمِ مَنْ يَنْصُرُنِي مِنَ اللَّهِ إِنْ طَرَدْتُهُمْ أَفَلا تَذَكَّرُونَ ('And O my people, who will protect me against Allah if I drive them away? Will you not then take heed?') (30)
Abū Jaʿfar said: He says: ('And O my people, who will protect me'), who will protect me and guard me against Allah if He punishes me for driving away the believers, who declare Allah to be One, were I to drive them away? ('Will you not then take heed?') He says: Will you not then reflect upon what you say, so that you may perceive its falsehood and desist from it?
