And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up.

His statement: وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنْفُوشِ — Allah, exalted be His remembrance, says: and on the day that the mountains will be like carded wool; and al-ʿihn is multicolored wool.
In accordance with what we have said about this, the people of interpretation also spoke.

Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His statement: وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنْفُوشِ — he said: carded wool.
Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, saying: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of Qatāda, who said: it is the wool. And it was mentioned that the mountains move along over the earth while they still have the form of mountains, like dust.
