The explanation of the meaning of the words of the Exalted: وَنَجِّنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ (And deliver us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people) (86)
Abū Jaʿfar says: The Exalted — blessed be His name — says: "Deliver us, O our Lord, by Your mercy, and rescue us from the hands of the disbelievers (kāfir), the people of Pharaoh — for they had taken them as slaves (riqq) and compelled them to the lowest and filthiest of the tasks of their service."
